Our Mission at Hyolmo Society of America

At the Hyolmo Community, our mission is to promote the well-being of our people and communities through the preservation and promotion of our cultural heritage, advocacy for social justice, and community development initiatives. We are committed to empowering our people to be agents of change in their own communities and to building a better future for generations to come.

Background & Religion of Hyolmo People

The Hyolmo people are an indigenous community with a rich cultural heritage dating back centuries. Our ancestors were skilled farmers, traders, and artisans who developed a unique way of life in the Himalayan region. Over the centuries, we have faced many challenges, including political instability, economic hardship, and discrimination. However, we have persevered and continue to thrive as a vibrant and dynamic community.

Today, the Hyolmo community is spread across the world, with significant populations in Nepal, India, Bhutan, and other countries. We are proud of our cultural heritage and work hard to preserve our language, traditions, and way of life. We also recognize the importance of engaging with the wider world and building bridges with other communities to promote mutual understanding, respect, and cooperation.
